Carbon has the vision of being the number one financial service provider in the continent of Africa. 

My job has been to build the platform to enable giving out loans, allowing customer investments, enabling funds transfer, making bill payments, purchasing airtime, and a host of other services available on the Carbon app.

Senior Software Engineer

Developed a simplified interface of a highly complex form, that allows multiple users edit the form simultaneously.

Software Engineer (Freelance)

Built a resilient central accounting platform to handle all kinds of transactions, and exposed it’s communication via an api service. The system handles different token types like cash and loyalty points.

Developed a module to handle payouts from the Adbasador system. These payouts are either via bank settlements or Airtime withdrawals. Airtime is also withdrawable using USSD codes.

Developed a fully role based authorization admin platform, that visualizes all key statistics, allows viewing of reports of all modules that make up the Adbasador system, and allows super admin level modifications. This platform enables authorized users to review advocates and posts for brand safety checks. 

Developed a brand mobile app using Ionic, mirroring all interactions and processes available to an advertising brand on the web version.

Built a monitoring system for posts made to instagram and twitter, and was able to use a combination of message brokers and distributed system architecture to increase speed of processing hundreds of tasks from a few minutes to a few seconds.

Built a video similarity assessment tool to handle checks for authentic video content posted by advocates. The tool compares the audio streams and the individual frames independently with the control version.

Worked with this data store extensively both on NodeJs and using Spring data on Java. I can model systems pretty excellently, and navigate the challenges of working with MongoDB

Thanks to the simplicity of Spring boot, and handling the over head of dependency injection, I've been able to scaffold and build micro services projects extremely quickly.
