I do several tasks for this company but most relevant to this site are database creation and management, data visualization, development and execution of simple models, etc.

Hydrogeologist

I have created and manage a large database with more than 1 million records.  I use the database to do calculations and track changes to data in ongoing data cleanup efforts.  I even used MySQL to manage my contacts for my wedding... I know, kind of nerdy.  

I always plot data simply to present for reporting or to get a better understanding of trends, to examine relationships between datasets or whatever need there may be.  I tend to prefer Python because it can handle huge datasets and has a great range of appearance options and controls.  

I use Python almost daily for myriad tasks.  I often sort data files and create new files based on defined groupings or parameters.  I also generate several types of figures.  Recently, I have been using some packages to create maps.  Personally, I have created programs to sort, organize and rename photo files, randomly select music to build a quick playlist with lots of variety, check stock performance for certain holdings, etc.
