First language I really loved. My go-to language for everything when I just feel like messing around, and when I need to rapidly build or prototype something. 

I enjoy the language to this day, and have worked extensively for years with Django, Flask, ORMs, building and consuming APIs, and so much more.

I use JS in just about everything that requires interactivity and simple user interfaces. Especially if page refreshes aren't wanted. I prefer to focus on the interactions, remote requests, and building thin, ignorant JS clients that defer to server backends for business logic and complex processes.

I like to stay as close as possible to vanilla JS, with jQuery for DOM interactions, and don't really care for moving MVC patterns onto clients.

I primarily lean on jQuery for events, DOM manipulation, animation, and similar needs. In that respect, I work quickly. I occasionally need to consult the docs when dabbling with something unusual or beyond my typical usage. But as long as there are docs, I can handle just about anything.

HTML is a given with building web applications. Started playing with it 15 years ago. 9 years ago, I moved into professional work. 

I have a serious love/hate relationship with CSS. Hunting down browser inconsistencies is the most annoying and frustrating tasks web developers encounter. 

I always use SQL databases for my work. I can think quickly with relationship scheme building, queries, etc. I don't exactly keep every part of SQL cached in my head as heavily as Python, JS, etc., but I can sit down to a problem, open docs when necessary, and move quickly to a solution.

I use Flask exclusively for my business and personal projects. I've dug deeply into its extension ecosystem at times to track down strange behaviors and bugs, and helped identify solutions. I build rather complex software on top of Flask, so I'm extremely comfortable with it, and have cached a decent amount of it in my head.

I spent 4 years using Django exclusively before I switched to using Flask 4 years ago.

I know just a bit more than enough to get myself in trouble. I'm completely comfortable with Linux, the command line, system/server installation and setup, etc. I started really getting to know Linux back in the early Gentoo days. I keep it on a couple machines of my own, and on servers, of course. I primarily work with Debian-based systems these days.

I started with MySQL early in my career, then made the switch to PostgreSQL. But I still occasionally have need to use it on some projects, and it's typically not too difficult to identify and deal with any differences between it and psql, since they're both SQL databases.

My daily VCS. I rarely have much need for anything beyond the standard workflow commands with branches, merges, push/pulls, rebases, and tagging. But I can figure out the esoteric things when I need to.

I've worked on medium-sized, complex projects that were private internal operations software for a client, with a small team I managed. I primarily focused on building API wrappers in Ruby, encapsulated a lot of third-party vendor APIs into a central service interface that could be used by the rest of the team to build out user-facing portions of the software products.

Worked for nearly 2 years on some iOS apps. Loved Objective-C and iOS development completely. Haven't done too much lately, but still keep up with the language and platform. 

Last I used it in 2012, I was consulting with a startup to redesign and rearchitect their SDK APIs, which were quite a mess.

I primarily use PostgreSQL, but am quite able to work with other SQL-based relational databases. I am quite comfortable working with architecting schemas, queries, and stored procedures & functions where necessary.

I have worked in object-oriented programming for nearly a decade now. Very skilled and able to help others learn/understand OOP better, help them learn how to think in OO patterns, and help them in thinking through problems to identify clear OO-based solutions and architectures.

My daily editor of the last several years. I've recently begun investigating Atom, but still use SublimeText frequently.
