Python is my programming language of choice. I did lots of projects with Python, ranging from simple parser scripts, data migration task distribution via celery, web applications to custom pytest plugins.

I wrote my first (bigger) web application with Django in 2007. Since then over the course of the years, as part of my job as IT consultant in Professional Services, I worked with a multitude of web technologies.

Most of the time in my career I worked as a consultant in Professional Services. In this position I was responsible for integrating various software systems as well as migrating data between systems.

I'm running the open source project goodplay.io which uses Docker for creating test environments.
Additionally I'm maintaining a company-internal Jenkins CI instance that launches our own custom docker container for each build.

I did my first Django project in 2007 when Django had not even reached version 1.0 yet. In 2023 I have rediscovered it and most-likely will use it more together with HTMX when doing web development in Python.

After learning Omikron Basic (Atari ST) and Visual Basic as a kid, Java was the second programming language that I've learned. In the past I've used it for GUIs (based on JWT, Swing, SWT), but also for backoffice applications based on Spring, and more.

TypeScript is usually my go-to choice when coding anything that will need to run in the JavaScript universe.

I am following the GraphQL ecosystem for a long time, have attended multiple meetups as well as GraphQL conferences. I have used GraphQL in a couple of smaller projects.

I'm the creator of goodplay, an open source project for testing Ansible roles/playbooks or writing all kinds of integration tests with the help of the Ansible language. I'm familiar with the Ansible code base.

One of the products of a company I worked for is a Directory Server that also supports LDAP. I've done several projects with it ranging from creating custom LDAP schema, migrating a legacy LDAP system to a new one, to using LDAP in a Meta Directory context. I have a lot of experience using ldap commands from command-line, creating LDAP filters, and using LDAP libraries in Python (e.g. ldap3).

I'm using git for all of my software projects. git is one of those version control systems which is probably hard to get started but once you are used to it you cannot go without it. I also like developing with a PR-based approach.

For a large German telecommunications company I helped to improve the user experience, e.g. by improving the step-by-step workflows.

As part of an automation workflow I integrated OpenAI's API to extract data from a document into a predefined Python data structure for further processing.
