A recent project involved transforming a complex Excel-based tax calculator into a secure, responsive Angular application. In one project, we needed to convert a large Excel-based tax calculator into a secure, scalable Angular web app. The challenge was that the Excel formulas were deeply nested, inconsistent, and not designed for programmatic use.

I started by working with domain experts to fully understand the calculation logic. Then I modularized the formulas into reusable TypeScript functions, added validation rules, and created a clean UI where users could input multiple income sources and instantly view tax outcomes.

We also added features like audit logs, report generation, and error handling to make it usable at scale.

The result was a significant reduction in manual effort, improved accuracy, and better user experience.

This project taught me a lot about collaborating with business stakeholders, breaking down messy systems, and designing clear, maintainable UI and logic.
