Summary

Alexandros, a seasoned web application developer with knowledge and expertise across
multiple technology stacks and an international career since 2006 has been involved in
numerous projects for all sorts of companies ranging from newly born start-ups to Fortune
100 companies like SAP A.G.
Alexandros, a true polyglot with an insatiable desire for acquiring new knowledge and
exploring new and innovative technologies, has published several plugins for various
programming languages with the latest one being a ruby gem called faw_icon.
Alexandros has been working on a personal project called Señalador for a couple of years
evolving his knowledge and understanding of Ruby and Rails. Señalador is a bookmark
storing service that offers along with a dashboard a number of browser extensions for
Firefox, Chrome and Opera.
Lately he has launched a new service called Rambler, a place for posting random or
rambling thoughts, sayings, words of wisdom, famous and not so famous quotes, wishes,
confessions, secrets, my next tattoo or messenger status.
Apart from several meetups and tech forums Alexandros has attended a number of
conferences across Europe the latest one being the Polymer Summit in Copenhagen in
November 2017 where he was introduced to version 2.0 of Polymer and had the chance to
socialize and connect with fellow developers and other IT professionals.

Working alongside the lead ruby architect, I was brought onboard to lead the refactoring of existing legacy services and break up the ruby on rails monolithic application into microservices. Significant emphasis was placed on code quality and it was achieved by implementing tools like rubocop, sorbet, rubycritic, reek. Test coverage was nothing short of 100% where we focused more on integration tests rather than plain unit tests.

The Application currently consists of five parts The Dashboard An addon for Firefox on Desktop An addon for Firefox on Android An extension for Chrome An extension for Opera The Dashboard is a web application accessible from all devices where a browser can be installed, where users can manage their bookmarks, create, add and remove tags and users can create bookmarks from within the Dashboard or by using on of the four browser extensions to save new bookmarks as they appear in the wild.
