Summary

I'm happy to help you with C, Bash, GNU make, Git, Linux and related open-source technologies. I've enjoyed doing this stuff since the 1990s and it's got ingrained into my memory to such an extent that I seem to remember arcane stuff (like C pointers to pointers😉) even when somebody wakes me up in the middle of the night 😎

I also have a passion for helping others to grow as software engineers. I was told I ask good questions. If you ask me for advice I won't do your homework for you, but instead ask you questions that will help you come up with your own ways to improve your code or infrastructure. 🎓

I have been a member of the core team that stood up the large-scale HP Public Cloud from scratch - over a 1000 of compute nodes. My greatest achievement has been leading the development of a comprehensive CI/CD pipeline. The system includes innovative extensions to Git. I have initiated and worked on a virtual OpenStack environment for developing software and for running automated tests. I have also been deeply involved in creating the Chef recipes that stand up our software in both the test and production environments and gained a lot if insight into how to implement (and how to not implement) configuration management.
