The ideal candidate is a modern social strategist and people leader who can translate business priorities into clear channel strategies, editorial programming, governance, and measurement. They bring deep expertise in brand storytelling, community-led growth, creator partnerships, reputation management, and are comfortable operating in a regulated environment while keeping the brand culturally relevant.
This role is a full-time contractor position requiring 40 hours per week availability with the potential to convert to a salaried role.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Owned Social Strategy & Content Leadership
o Define and lead the owned social strategy across priority consumer and B2B platforms, including channel roles, audience strategy, content pillars, editorial calendar, and governance.
o Establish and evolve brand voice and content standards for platform-native storytelling (short-form video, series-based programming, UGC-inspired content, seasonal moments, thought leadership).
o Build a scalable content operating model across internal stakeholders and agency partners to ensure consistent, on-time, on-brand production and publishing.
o Drive continuous improvement through testing and optimization of creative formats, messaging, publishing cadence, and segmentation to deepen engagement with target audiences.
· Earned Social, Community & Reputation
o Own the strategy to increase earned conversation, share of voice, advocacy, and positive sentiment across social platforms.
o Lead the approach to community management (in-house and/or agency), including response playbooks, moderation standards, escalation pathways, and issue management in partnership with Communications, Legal/Compliance, and Customer Care.
o Monitor cultural and category trends, identify real-time engagement opportunities, and ensure CareCredit shows up credibly and consistently in relevant moments.
o Partner with Communications and Brand teams to protect and enhance CareCredit’s brand reputation, ensuring messaging is accurate, compliant, and consumer-first.
· Influencer/Creator Marketing (Critical)
o Develop and scale CareCredit’s influencer/creator strategy, balancing always-on partnerships and campaign-based activations to drive awareness, education, and consideration.
o Identify, vet, contract, and manage creators; create creator briefs, content guardrails, and measurement plans; ensure FTC disclosure, brand safety, and compliance requirements are met.
o Build repeatable creator programs (e.g., creator bench, category experts, partner/affiliate models where appropriate) and integrate learnings into the owned content strategy.
o Track and report creator performance (reach, engagement quality, watch time, sentiment, traffic/conversions where applicable) and optimize based on insights.
· Multi-Vertical Channel Governance (Shared Handles)
o Serve as the strategy and governance lead for CareCredit’s core social handles, partnering with multiple internal verticals/lines of business seeking to leverage the same channels.
o Build and manage an intake, prioritization, and publishing process (brief requirements, SLAs, approvals, calendar planning) that balances vertical priorities with a cohesive brand narrative and audience-first channel strategy.
o Establish clear guidelines for shared-handle usage, including content standards, tone/voice, community management responsibilities, escalation paths, and performance reporting.
o Align cross-vertical stakeholders on platform strategy, timing, and messaging guardrails to ensure consistent brand representation, compliance, and measurable impact.
· Leadership, Budget & Cross-Functional Partnership
o Serve as the senior social media and branded content SME for CareCredit and a key partner across the Synchrony enterprise.
o Lead and develop the social team; set clear priorities, standards, and growth pathways.
o Own the social budget and resourcing across owned, earned/community, and influencer initiatives (including paid amplification of social content where applicable).
o Own agency relationships to concept, develop, and execute social programs with strong creative quality and operational rigor.
o Collaborate closely with Legal, Compliance, and Fair Lending teams for review and approval of copy, creative, disclosures, and any audience/targeting considerations tied to social programs.
