Job Description
As a Ul Specialist you translate user insights into intuitive interaction concepts and robust, production-ready user interfaces for Vanderlande's digital products. You work closely with UX Architects, Product Owners, Developers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that UX vision, usability principles, and technical feasibility are consistently realised in high-quality Ul implementations.
This role requires deep hands-on expertise across UX and Ul design with a strong focus on specification, performance, and maintainability in complex, data-intensive and operational systems.
UX & Interaction Design
You understand user needs, workflows, and operational context relevant to your products), and based on the UX vision, UX architecture, and user understanding, you create interaction design concepts, wireframes, and application prototypes illustrating key product interactions. You conduct usability testing to validate design decisions, test design concepts and developed applications to improve usability and reduce risks, iterate on designs based on user feedback, analytics, and testing results while clearly communicating findings to stakeholders. You actively contribute to strengthening UX and usability awareness within the organization.
Ul Design
You translate UX concepts into production-read, high quality user interfaces and actively Support Ul development. You design reusable, scalable Ul components and collaborate closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation of UX intent. You align UX concepts early with technical constraints and contribute to Ul patterns, standards, and design systems. You also support quality assurance by reviewing Ul implementations for usability, performance, and consistency.
Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor or master degree in computer science or information technology
3+ years of hands-on experience as a Ul Designer, supported by a strong portfolio Proven experience designing complex, data-heavy user interfaces
Hands-on experience in logistics process automation, intralogistics, or industrial automation
Experience working in cross-functional and international product teams
Required Skills
UX & Design
Strong expertise in interaction design, information hierarchy, state-based Ul design, and Ul design principles including color theory, and layout, combined with a solid understanding of responsive design and accessibility standards. Proven experience with usability testing, wireframing, prototyping, and iterative, feedback-driven design processes using tools such as Figma.
Nice to have Ul Development
Hands-on experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks such as Angular 21. Understanding of component-based architectures, state management, and frontend performance considerations, with the ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code and collaborate effectively with backend and system engineers.
Collaboration
Ability to clearly articulate design decisions to engineers, architects, and product owners, comfortable working in cross-functional agile teams, with strong presentation and communication skills, attention to detail, and a Design Thinking mindset.
