The Opportunity: We are looking for a highly skilled and entrepreneurial Founding AI Agent Engineer to be a core member of our early engineering team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end development of our mission-critical AI Agents, including the orchestration framework that allows them to communicate, reason, and act autonomously within complex manufacturing environments. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of applied AI, large-scale data systems, and deep-domain industrial logic.

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Senior Software Engineer - AI Platform. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for developing scalable AI-driven platforms, designing and implementing back-end systems, and working with cross-functional teams to build innovative solutions. The role includes collaborating to enhance system performance, writing efficient code, ensuring adherence to best development practices, and troubleshooting technical challenges. The engineer will play a key role in driving the technology behind the company’s AI Agents and software solutions.

Role Description:

• Design and Build Agentic Systems: Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of high-impact AI agents (e.g., Inventory Discrepancy, Compliance Management, Demand Forecasting) using Python and modern orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, CrewAI, etc.).
• Data Unification & Integration: Develop robust, secure connectors and data pipelines to unify diverse industrial data sources, including traditional IT systems (ERP, CRM) and Operational Technology (OT) systems (SCADA, PLC logs, time-series databases).
• LLM Fine-Tuning and Prompt Engineering: Own the creation of specialized manufacturing domain models, ensuring high accuracy, low latency, and adherence to our proprietary Zero-Copy Data Architecture principles.
• API and Tool Development: Build the necessary tools and APIs (the "actions") that allow the agents to interact with and exert influence on real-world factory workflows.
• Deployment and Monitoring: Deploy, monitor, and maintain agents and the orchestration layer in production environments (AWS/GCP), focusing on performance, scalability, and security compliance (especially regarding industrial data).

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science principles, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering fundamentals
• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with 3+ years focused specifically on applied Machine Learning, NLP, or AI
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, and, ideally, developing Agentic AI systems and orchestration frameworks (LangChain/LangGraph, or custom solutions)
• Proven experience in Software Development and Programming, with proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or similar
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
