Zaigo builds AI software for real businesses.

Not demos. Not slide decks. Actual tools that people use to run parts of their company.

Our clients are usually owner-led or mid-market companies in the US: professional services firms, distributors, manufacturers, healthcare operators, finance teams. They have messy workflows, old systems, weird data, and very little patience for theory. We figure out what should exist, then we build it.

We are looking for a senior full-stack engineer who already builds heavily with AI. Someone who can take a vague client problem, turn it into a product plan, build the thing, polish it, ship it, and keep moving.

If you need perfect specs, this probably is not the job. If you like owning the whole problem and moving faster than normal teams think is reasonable, it might be.

What the work looks like

You will own client projects end to end.

That means you may be on a call with a business owner in the morning, designing the workflow after lunch, and shipping the first usable version that week. The work is full-stack product engineering: database, backend, UI, auth, integrations, AI agents, evals, error handling, deployment, and the judgment to know what should not be handled by a model.

Recent Zaigo-style projects include:

  • a document review tool that checks presentations against a firm's brand and compliance rules

  • a benchmarking platform built from years of public company filings

  • payroll and operations tools that clean messy data and produce files people can actually use

  • internal AI agents that help teams move faster without giving the model dangerous autonomy

You do not need to be an ML researcher. You do need to be a very strong engineer who knows how to use AI tools to ship better and faster.

Who we are looking for

You are probably a fit if this sounds like you:

  • You have 5+ years building software professionally.

  • You can ship across the stack: frontend, backend, database, integrations, deployment.

  • You use AI coding tools every day, not as a novelty. Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, agents, worktrees, parallel terminals, your own setup. We care less about the exact tools and more about whether you have real opinions from using them.

  • You think like a product owner. You ask what the user is trying to do, what the first useful version should be, and what will make people trust the system.

  • You can work with ambiguity. Clients rarely hand you perfect requirements.

  • You have taste. There is no reason to ship ugly software anymore.

  • You communicate clearly in English and can talk through tradeoffs with US clients.

  • You have high initiative. You fix things nobody assigned. You build outside work because you like building.

Bonus points if you have founded something, freelanced, run a small agency, built your own product, or worked directly with clients.

Who should not apply

This is probably not the right role if you want a narrow lane, a long roadmap, and fully written tickets.

It is also probably not right if your AI experience is mostly prompting ChatGPT, building toy demos, or talking about agents without shipping production software.

We need builders. Smart, fast, practical builders.

Process

  1. Short application.

  2. 10-minute async voice interview.

  3. Live interview with Zaigo's founder.

  4. Short practical build project.

  5. Offer if it is a fit.

We move quickly. If there is a fit, you will hear from us within days, not weeks.
