We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Scientist to join us on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Demand Forecast & Replenishment, Price Optimization, ML and AI Implementation, Learning Solutions, Warehouse Management, Supply Chain Planning, Category Management, Order Management and leverage your expertise to drive data-informed decisions. You will work closely with various stakeholders to analyze complex datasets, develop predictive models, and provide actionable insights.
Responsibilities:
- Collect, clean, and preprocess large and diverse datasets.
- Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Develop and implement machine learning models for tasks such as classification, regression, clustering, and time series forecasting etc.
- Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and iterate to improve accuracy and reliability.
- Communicate findings and insights effectively through clear visualizations and presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and related technologies.
- Document methodologies, code, and results thoroughly.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of our data science infrastructure and best practices.
Requirements:
- Deep understanding of data science principles and methodologies. A Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field is a plus, but equivalent in-depth knowledge and practical experience will also be considered.
- Proven experience (typically 10+ years) working as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R.
- Experience with relevant data science libraries and frameworks (e.g., statsmodels, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, pandas, NumPy).
- Solid understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and their underlying principles.
- Experience with database systems and SQL.
- Excellent data visualization skills using tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, PowerBi or Tableau.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Experience in JDA or Blue Yonder tools.
- Experience with deploying and monitoring machine learning models in production.
