We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join a cross-functional team driving digital transformation in the forestry and wood-processing domain. You will work independently and collaboratively with engineers, data scientists, and DevOps to deliver solutions that improve production efficiency, detect anomalies in real time, and embed intelligence into operational platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Apply ML/AI methods (e.g., clustering, PCA, predictive models) to detect anomalies and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Guide the development and integration of real-time analytics systems into platform applications.
- Rapidly prototype research outcomes into efficient and production-ready code (mostly in Python).
- Leverage the Microsoft Data Engineering toolset (Power BI, Power Automate, Dataverse) for operational reporting and automation.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and challenge approaches when needed.
- Support long-term growth by establishing reusable frameworks and methodologies.
- Provide technical leadership and help onboard new contributors to the project.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in data science, algorithm development, or applied machine learning.
- Strong Python skills and experience with real-time data processing.
- Experience with predictive analytics, forecasting, anomaly detection, and diagnostic model development.
- Proficiency with Power BI, Power Automate, Dataverse (or similar tools in the Microsoft stack).
- Solid understanding of data architecture in cloud environments (preferably Azure).
- Ability to read and understand C/C++ code is a strong plus.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in mentoring or leading data teams.
- Strong communication skills, ability to work autonomously, and a proactive mindset.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Upper-Intermediate level of English for daily communication.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in the manufacturing or industrial tech domain.
- Prior experience with statistical modelling tools or embedded analytics.
- Familiarity with SDLC practices in data product delivery.
