Job Title: Interim Director, Marketing (Contract – Paternity Cover)

Location: Remote

Reports to: Managing Director

Duration: Mid-June to end of August / mid-September (2.5–3 months)

Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time

Start Date: Targeting week of June 23rd

We launched Wellow after realizing how hard it is to stay active and healthy amidst busy lives, careers, and family obligations. In our search for simple, sustainable wellness solutions, we discovered an overlooked key to everyday health: circulation. When we couldn’t find a compression sock that struck the right balance between support and comfort, we made our own.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Wellow is seeking an experienced and agile Director of Marketing to step in and provide temporary strategic and e-commerce guidance while our Head of Marketing is on leave. This 2.5–3 month contract role is critical to ensuring continuity and performance across our marketing efforts during a busy launch season.

This role is ideal for someone who can quickly onboard, take ownership of a dynamic marketing calendar, and collaborate across teams to keep campaigns running smoothly. You’ll lead the strategy and execution with a small team of 4 creative and programmers to ensure product launches, sales promotions, and forward planning for seasonal campaigns are done well.

As the most senior marketing lead during this period, you’ll report directly to the Managing Director and work closely with team leads in creative, growth, and operations. We’re looking for someone with strong leadership and DTC experience who can both maintain momentum and help build for what’s next.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and guide Marketing strategy during the contract period, ensuring alignment with the brand’s core identity, value proposition, voice and visual elements ensuring differentiation and achieving commercial goals..
  • Lead planning and execution of product launches and promotional campaigns (June–September), including messaging, timelines, and performance tracking.
  • Oversee the execution and optimization of customer acquisition strategies, including paid media, email, influencer, and organic content including briefing and reviewing creative for ads, social media, email and the website ensuring alignment.
  • Guide Lifecycle Marketing efforts to support retention and LTV growth through segmentation, re-engagement tactics, and personalization strategies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 6+ years of experience as Marketing Director, AD or Brand Manager for a DTC brand. Amazon experience preferred.
  • Demonstrable success in planning and executing product launches, seasonal campaigns, or sales.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator, comfortable in a temporary leadership role and comfortable working with a fully distributed team.
  • Bonus: experience with apparel, lifestyle, or fast-moving consumer products.
  • Bonus: experience working in an organization that uses the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of DTC marketing models, customer acquisition, and retention strategies.
  • Skills: Strong strategic thinking balanced with the ability to execute on short-term priorities.
  • Abilities: Able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

CONTRACT DETAILS

  • Duration: ~2.5 to 3 months (June–Aug/Sept).
  • Time Commitment: Full-time, with flexibility to align with project priorities.
  • Reporting To: Managing Director (temporary), working closely with the wider marketing and creative teams.
  • Overlap: You’ll overlap with our current Head of Marketing before and after his leave (~3 weeks out), and help bridge the gap during another team member’s PTO.
