Senior Software Engineer (PHP, Language Agnostic, OOP)

Senior Full Stack Developer | Fintech Platform | Remote or Düsseldorf

We're looking for an experienced full stack developer to join one of our cross-functional product teams. You’ll help shape, build, and scale the next generation of digital lending solutions—collaborating with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders to deliver clean, well-architected software that makes a real impact.

What you’ll be doing:

• Designing and building backend services in PHP 8 using Symfony, with a focus on clean architecture and maintainability
• Developing user-facing features using modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js or React
• Creating end-to-end functionality, including automated testing with PHPUnit, Cypress, or vitest
• Building scalable, event-driven services using Kafka in a service-oriented architecture
• Shipping features through CI/CD pipelines to Kubernetes clusters, with support from our DevOps team
• Participating in code reviews, pair programming, and cross-team collaboration
• Working closely with product owners to deliver value with each iteration
• Attending monthly team days in Düsseldorf or Berlin, while working remotely the rest of the time

What we’re looking for:

• Professional experience as a full stack developer with solid backend (PHP, Java, or C#) and frontend (JavaScript + Vue.js or React) skills
• A strong understanding of software design principles, performance optimisation, and testing best practices
• Hands-on experience with containerized deployments (Kubernetes, Docker) and CI/CD workflows
• Familiarity with event-driven systems and message brokers such as Kafka
• A user-centric mindset and interest in building products that solve real-world problems
• Strong version control habits (Git) and collaborative coding style
• Bonus: experience with mobile app development or Salesforce
• Clear communication skills and fluency in English (German is a plus)
