Senior Backend Engineer, Early Stage Project

As a backend infrastructure software engineer you will help the team design & implement scalable, high performance infrastructure. You will be part of a talented, interdisciplinary engineering team helping build an AI platform from the ground up. This is a multifaceted role, part backend engineer, part SRE, part infrastructure. We’re looking for someone with a startup ethos who loves wearing multiple hats.

How You Will Make 10X Impact

• Design and implement robust, end to end production-level software to enable inference, optimization, and other complex services as part of a SaaS offering
• Help build and maintain a stable, efficient CI/CD pipeline
• Work effectively with cross-functional teams of engineers, scientists, domain experts and PMs.
• Have strong software engineering/system design skills and being excited about solving complex problems at scale and navigating ambiguity

What You Should Have

• At least 5 years of experience building large, complex software systems and applications
• Experience with large-scale data processing and modeling, designing backend services and building enterprise/consumer applications
• Experienced python developer
• Experience with backend and infra technologies such as Protocol Buffers, gRPC, Pub/Sub, monitoring, Terraform, Kubeflow, Kubernetes, Cloud Functions
• Experience serving AI workflows for both training and inference
• Ability to work in small teams / rapid prototyping environment

It’d Be Great If You Also Had These

• Experience building applications and infra leveraging the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) stack
• Experience with building full-stack applications
• Experience working in a Startup/early stage company with rapidly changing requirements and limited oversight

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000 - $276,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
