We are looking for a highly skilled Data Scientist / Senior Business Analytics Developer to join our Finance Shared Services team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in building a new governance model and developing the infrastructure to measure strategic, operational, and tactical metrics. This role requires a deep understanding of data science, business intelligence, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma.

The ideal candidate will support the gathering, structuring, and representation of data through dynamic visualization, aiding the Shared Service organization in its growth and transformation journey. Once the infrastructure is established, the candidate will leverage advanced analytics techniques, such as predictive modeling and statistical analysis, to identify patterns, trends, and correlations within large datasets.

Through the integration of BI, advanced analytics, ML, and AI, this professional will play a crucial role in transforming raw data into valuable, actionable intelligence, enabling the organization to stay competitive and agile in a rapidly evolving business landscape while providing expertise and training to our international team.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement data models, algorithms, and statistical analyses to support the Finance Shared Services team.

Design, build, and maintain BI dashboards and reports to provide insights into strategic, operational, and tactical metrics.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, gather, and prioritize business needs and tackle precise use cases.
Acquire data from primary or secondary sources and undertake pre-processing of structured and unstructured data.
Ensure a thorough understanding of data sources and definitions to integrate and structure data from multiple sources for coherent reporting.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across all BI and data science projects.
Implement automation to streamline reporting processes and reduce manual effort.
Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior executive leadership.
Lead the development of data governance frameworks and best practices.
Provide training and support to team members on data tools and methodologies.
Continuously improve data processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data science and business intelligence.

Key Competencies / Skills:

Minimum 10-15 years experience in Engineering, Finance, Sales or Project Delivery or similar relevant operational experience
Proven work experience as a Data Scientist, Engineer on complex predictive models
Functional-Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining, data cleansing & data visualization an asset
Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting (exceptionally good with Power BI, M-Query & DAX)
Advanced knowledge of Python
Good to have - knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (SPSS, SAS etc.)
Engineering industry experience / Lean Six Sigma background are added bonus

Qualifications:
