Job Description
WSP has a new opportunity for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to be part of our Mine Waste team on a full-time basis based in Midrand. The typical role and responsibilities of this role is to provide Geotechnical Engineering services in the mining, infrastructure as well as property and buildings sectors. Priorities will change according to business requirements; however, it is an expectation of that the candidate will also have the following:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Deliver high quality geotechnical tasks and technical leadership for project in mining, oil & gas, infrastructure and other related fields.
- Work as a Senior level within Jakarta office to support large, complex and challenging projects in core areas of geotechnical, environmental and civil engineering
- Deliver high quality project management on multidisciplinary projects for local and international clients.
- Plan, organize, supervise and deliver geotechnical field investigation and geotechnical analysis programs, including providing interpretation of geotechnical data in a collaborative team environment.
- Prepare practical technically competent reports, documents and proposals under principal review
- Contribute in the implementation of corporate HSSE programs across our field and office teams.
- Communicate with potential clients undertaking business development for Mining Engineering Services business opportunities

Skills:
- Significant geotechnical consultancy experience in mining and oil & gas
- Must have knowledge of geotechnical application and software to provide geotechnical engineering problem solving.
- Ability to manage client relationships, time management, and ability to manage project teams.
- Ability to write technical report (in English), strong English communication skills and critical thinking skills are essential.
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
Qualifications
- Master Degree or high rank Tertiary qualification on civil engineering, geological engineering or engineering geology.
- More than 10 years relevant work experience.
- Proven track record in utilizing geotechnical software for problem solving.
- Geotechnical professional certification would be advantage.
