Senior Software Engineer – Data Acquisition
We’re building the health data layer for the next generation of digital health companies—and we’re looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Data Acquisition (DA) team.
This team is at the heart of our mission: collecting health data from a wide variety of internal and external sources and transforming it into meaningful, usable insights for our platform users. You'll work closely with our founding product and engineering leaders to build reliable, scalable systems that power innovative healthcare solutions.
What You'll Do:
- Design and build high-volume data pipelines that aggregate healthcare data from third-party networks.
- Develop and maintain services and APIs that support both internal and customer-facing data access.
- Architect systems that scale efficiently using AWS technologies like Step Functions, Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3.
- Lead technical efforts and mentor engineers within the team.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other cross-functional teams to ship impactful features.
- Own the full lifecycle of your services—from development to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
Our Stack:
- Primary Language: Go (with some components in Node.js)
- Infrastructure: AWS (Step Functions, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3), GitHub Actions, Terraform, and other IaC tools
We're Looking For Someone Who:
- Has hands-on experience building and running production-ready data pipelines and microservices.
- Writes backend code in any language (Go or Node.js experience is a plus).
- Understands operational stability, scalability, and cost efficiency in cloud environments.
- Has experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment with evolving priorities.
- Enjoys taking ownership and delivering high-quality code to production.
- Values collaboration, feedback, and continuous improvement.
- Is located in the Boston area and open to a hybrid work model—or is remote (EST/CST) with occasional travel for team meetups.
Bonus Points If You:
- Have experience working with healthcare data or standards like FHIR and TEFCA.
- Are familiar with building APIs for third-party developers.
- Have a strong understanding of application security best practices.
- Have worked on large-scale distributed systems in cloud environments.
