Marketing and Communications Specialist

We’re WiseMove.co.za, a marketplace booking platform that books moving services for people with trusted local moving companies and independent movers.

We are an international company with a strong presence in South Africa. Our operations also extend to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and beyond.

You’ll have the chance to work with a global brand while contributing to scalable strategies across diverse regions.

About You

We’re looking for a motivated, self-sufficient individual with experience in email communications, outreach, and marketing. You should be semi-autonomous, capable of working independently while staying aligned with company goals.

Ideally, you are based in Cape Town or Johannesburg, where you can work from one of our co-working offices. If you’re located elsewhere but are the right fit, we’re open to considering a remote role.

We are seeking someone with significant professional experience, preferably more than 6-8 years. This could include marketing, communications, or similar roles where you’ve demonstrated your ability to manage projects, lead initiatives, and deliver results effectively.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Executing ideas: This role is about acting quickly to check and test ideas, with a focus on quickly learning through execution. In a startup, speed is everything—the same idea, when tested and executed quickly, can lead to valuable insights and sometimes success when we implement it. But that same idea, if stretched out over a long period, could become irrelevant or disastrous. The goal isn’t just about whether an idea succeeds or fails, but about quickly learning from the process and using those lessons to adapt and improve.
• Leading marketing efforts: Focus on email campaigns, outreach, and SEO to engage users, build brand visibility, and drive traffic.
• Handling PR and external communications: Collaborate with PR professionals to craft press releases, build media relationships, and ensure Wise Move is recognized as a trusted leader.
• Managing and improving our blog content: Oversee a content pipeline, liaise with writers, and deliver high-quality, engaging articles that align with our brand’s voice.
• Building relationships with transport providers: Strengthen connections to enhance their experience and expand service offerings.
• Assist with other marketing and communication tasks as needed.
