About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our iOS Platform team. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing the AI-driven tools and frameworks that support Airbnb’s iOS applications. Your primary focus will be on developing and maintaining sophisticated AI agents that streamline the software development workflow, improve productivity, and ensure high-quality deliverables. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product engineers, data scientists, and infrastructure specialists to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements. Your work will directly impact how our engineering teams build, test, and deploy features, enabling Airbnb to innovate rapidly while maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of industry experience in software development
• Proficiency in Ruby, with experience maintaining or improving existing tooling
• Experience leveraging Agentic AI to enhance software development workflows and manage large-scale migrations
• Strong background in identifying and resolving inefficiencies in AI agent workflows, including optimizing execution time, token efficiency, reliability, and quality
• Hands-on experience working with medium to large-scale codebases
• Extensive iOS development experience in Swift, including building applications, libraries, and frameworks
• [Nice to have] Experience designing and developing build systems such as Bazel
• Ability to travel to San Francisco approximately once per quarter for team gatherings
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to identify opportunities for improving developer productivity and workflow automation
• Drive the roadmap for AI agent tools and frameworks, ensuring timely delivery of high-impact projects
• Enhance and optimize existing frameworks and tooling to support Airbnb’s ambitious technological vision
• Develop new AI-driven solutions to streamline software development processes, including large-scale migrations and automation tasks
• Maintain and improve the performance, reliability, and efficiency of AI agents and related workflows
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold high-quality standards
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in iOS development, AI, and automation technologies to continuously improve our systems
