About The Role
We’re seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Manager to take full ownership of Relay’s organic social media strategy. You will lead efforts to build brand awareness, expand our reach among U.S. small business owners, and create engaging content that drives qualified leads and conversions. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about storytelling, community engagement, and social-first content creation. You’ll join a high-performing marketing team committed to delivering impact, and you’ll play a key role in shaping Relay’s online presence.
Applicants must reside in the New York City metropolitan area or the surrounding tri-state region (New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut).
Responsibilities
- Own and execute Relay’s organic social media strategy across platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok
- Develop original and repurposed content (written, static visuals, infographics, and short-form video) to drive awareness and engagement
- Build and maintain a content calendar aligned with marketing campaigns, product launches, customer stories, and more
- Monitor and engage in social conversations, influencer posts, and community interactions to elevate Relay’s presence
- Create video content that tells compelling stories about our brand, customers, and platform
- Measure, report, and optimize content performance using data and analytics
- Stay ahead of social trends and identify innovative ways to engage and grow audiences
- Collaborate cross-functionally to amplify messaging and align with business goals
- Act as a brand steward, maintaining consistent tone and quality across platforms
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in social media management and content creation
- Proven track record of building brand awareness and audience growth through organic content
- Strong skills in writing, storytelling, and creating platform-native content (visual and video)
- Experience using Canva, CapCut, and other social content tools
- Deep understanding of current social trends and audience engagement tactics
- Experience in short-form video and interviewing subject matter experts
- Proficiency in using data and insights to inform content strategies
- Strong project management and ability to work independently
- Passion for creating valuable content for small business owners
- A portfolio or examples of your previous work is required
- Bonus: Experience in fintech, startups, or creating content related to finance or SMBs
- Bonus: Comfortable appearing on camera or representing the brand’s voice publicly
