About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Software Engineer II to join our team supporting the US Air Force's Foundational Logistics Information Technology Enterprise System (FLITES) program. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions that enhance the operational capabilities of the logistics information system. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Java and related technologies, with the ability to work on complex software projects in a federal defense environment. This position offers the flexibility of fully remote work, allowing you to collaborate effectively with a dedicated team from anywhere within the United States.

Qualifications

• Must successfully pass a Java assessment (AI use during assessment will lead to disqualification)
• Reside in the U.S. and be eligible for a government security clearance investigation
• 3-5 years of experience supporting federal or Department of Defense (DoD) clients
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Ability to undergo background checks and obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
• An active transferable CAC is preferred but not required
• An active Secret security clearance is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, refactor, test, and maintain new features and improve existing codebases using Java/J2EE, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, CSS, Ext JS, REACT, JUnit, and Eclipse
• Work with UI technologies to enhance user interface components
• Implement J2EE concepts such as RESTful Web services and MVC pattern utilizing ONE Platform SDK
• Develop complex SQL queries and stored procedures using Oracle SQL Developer
• Debug issues tracked in JIRA, validate requirements documented in Confluence, and perform root cause analysis to resolve bugs
• Work with integration frameworks including EDI, JSON, XML, REST, SOAP, etc.
• Manage code revisions and merge branches using Perforce (P4V)
• Participate in client meetings, design sessions, deployment activities, and provide production support
• Assist with initial application setup, including data attribute mapping, workflow configuration, business rule creation, role, and user interface form mapping
• Perform other duties as assigned to support project success
