About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer, Full Stack to join our team in Newark, DE. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and enhancement of software tools and systems used in clinical and internal settings. You will play a crucial part in technical leadership, guiding junior engineers, and driving best practices within an Agile environment. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing safety-critical, regulated medical device software using technologies such as C#, WPF, and .NET. The role offers a unique opportunity to influence product development from conception to deployment, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and functional standards. While the preferred location is onsite in Newark, DE, we are open to hybrid or remote arrangements for the right candidate, reflecting our flexible work culture.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 6+ years with a Master’s degree or 3+ years with a PhD
• Deep expertise in object-oriented and procedural programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, and .NET
• Experience working with safety-critical software in regulated environments like FDA compliance
• Proficiency with version control tools (Git, Azure DevOps, etc.), SDLC, and managing large codebases
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and system analysis skills
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, cloud computing, or deep learning is advantageous
• Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design, development, and documentation of software components and systems
• Develop and test software for safety-critical, regulated medical devices ensuring compliance with industry standards
• Mentor junior engineers, promoting best coding practices and Agile methodologies within the team
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, and clinical stakeholders to maximize product value
• Maintain comprehensive system-level documentation and ensure adherence to safety, functional, and regulatory requirements
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in team processes, software architecture, and overall quality standards
• Communicate project progress, risks, and resource needs clearly to management and stakeholders
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and validation activities to uphold high standards of software quality
