About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. This US-based role offers the flexibility of remote work, with periodic travel to our headquarters in Johnston, RI, depending on business needs. The successful candidate must be willing to work EST hours to align with our operational requirements. As a Software Engineer at FM Global, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement multi-tiered enterprise solutions that are feature-rich, high-performing, and maintain a high level of test automation. Your role will involve active participation in technical discussions, code reviews, and continuous learning initiatives to enhance both your skills and those of your team members. You will contribute to building systems that are maintainable, scalable, and aligned with the latest development practices, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that create value for our clients and organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in web application front-end design and development for public-facing products
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, SCSS, jQuery
• Experience with ASP.NET MVC and Razor Syntax
• Hands-on experience with Sitecore 9 or 10 and Sitecore SXA
• Knowledge of ReactJs or Angular frameworks
• Strong understanding of responsive web design principles and cross-device user experience optimization
• Experience developing reusable UI components and customizable site themes
• Familiarity with the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in software projects
• Conceptual knowledge of distributed client/server environments and information technologies
• Proficiency in application development within multi-tiered client/server web architectures
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and estimation skills for web development projects
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum processes
• Self-motivated with a keen interest in emerging development technologies, tools, and patterns
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for diverse audiences
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multi-functional teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement multi-tiered enterprise web solutions that are feature-rich, performant, and maintain high levels of test automation
• Collaborate with team members to ensure technical solutions meet business needs and quality standards
• Participate actively in technical discussions, code reviews, and knowledge sharing sessions
• Enhance skills and capabilities through experimentation, training, and continuous learning initiatives
• Develop and maintain reusable UI components and shareable site themes to ensure consistency across platforms
• Ensure responsive design principles are applied to deliver optimal user experiences across all devices
• Estimate development tasks for small to medium-sized projects, adhering to project timelines and quality standards
• Adopt and promote Agile and Scrum methodologies within the development team
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and best practices to continuously improve development processes
• Work effectively in a remote environment, maintaining clear communication and collaboration with team members and stakeholders
