About The Role

We're looking for an experienced Analytics Data Scientist to join our Data Science & Analytics team. In this role, you'll partner closely with product, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to translate ambiguous problems into actionable insights. From creating strategic dashboards to designing A/B tests, your work will directly inform product decisions and user experience improvements across Discord.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams through the full lifecycle of analytics projects
• Define KPIs and design clean, actionable dashboards and reports
• Build custom datasets using Discord’s data infrastructure to monitor product performance
• Translate complex data insights into clear narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Lead A/B testing initiatives and advise on test design and result interpretation
• Partner with engineering teams to improve instrumentation and data pipelines
• Actively share findings and iterate based on stakeholder feedback

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience translating ambiguous business problems into clear, data-driven insights
• 2+ years of experience building dashboards using Tableau, Looker, or similar tools
• 2+ years of strong SQL experience, with a focus on writing optimized queries
• Proven ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical audiences
• 2+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and interpreting A/B tests
• Strong collaboration skills and a natural sense of curiosity
• Passion for user experience and data-driven product development

Bonus Points

• Passion for Discord or online communities
• Experience in technical leadership roles or stakeholder management
• Background in analytics for social platforms or subscription services
• Familiarity with LTV, funnel analysis, and social graphs
• Experience with BigQuery SQL or production ETL pipelines
• Focus on user engagement and growth metrics
