Data Center and Environmental Compliance Program Manager
Location: Remote, PST hours preferred
About the Role
- We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead sustainability and regulatory compliance initiatives across global data centers. This role is not software or development focused. Instead, it requires a background in construction, architecture, regulatory compliance, or data center operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in technically complex environments and a strong understanding of how to drive compliance in line with European and international standards.
- This position plays a critical role in reducing water and power usage across data centers and aligning those efforts with environmental regulations and corporate sustainability goals. It provides a unique opportunity to shape the future of sustainable infrastructure while collaborating with engineers, operations teams, external design firms, and compliance partners globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and data center operations to identify gaps in sustainability practices related to water and power usage.
- Analyze existing systems to determine current state versus international standards, and work with partners to create and implement improvement plans.
- Partner with design firms and operations to implement efficient and compliant engineering solutions.
- Develop repeatable frameworks for stakeholder engagement and compliance tracking.
- Define, manage, and track program/project schedules, reporting progress to stakeholders.
- Conduct data analysis using tools such as Kusto to assess performance and drive decision-making.
- Document requirements, draft functional specifications, and review tooling needs to support compliance and operational excellence.

- ISO50001 (Energy Management)
- EN50600 (Data Center Infrastructure)
- ISO14001 (Environmental Management)
- EU Energy Directive
- EU Trade Schema
- EU Green Public Procurement
- EU Taxonomy
- ISO30134-series metrics
- Drive projects from issue identification through to resolution, ensuring cross-functional coordination and clarity on deliverables.
Experience & Skills:
- 8–10 years of experience in program or project management, ideally within a technical or engineering-driven environment.
- Proven ability to interface with and manage diverse technical teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an understanding of mathematics, thermodynamics, and systems engineering concepts.
- Demonstrated success in driving cross-functional initiatives in compliance-heavy environments.
- Self-starter with a growth mindset and willingness to learn complex technical subject matter.
- Ability to interpret and align programs with international environmental standards and directives.
- Willingness to learn and engage with deep technical concepts (e.g., calculus, engineering models).
