Project Exposure
You will gain exposure to a diverse range of infrastructure projects, including:
- Roads and transport infrastructure
- Bridges and structures
- Marine and coastal engineering
- Aviation infrastructure
- Utilities and water infrastructure
- Earthworks, drainage, and heavy civil engineering projects
This role offers strong exposure to the full project life cycle, helping you build practical skills in programme development, scheduling, progress reporting, coordination, and project delivery support.
The Role
As a Project Planner, you will support the development, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of project programmes across civil engineering and infrastructure projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, site teams, commercial teams, and subcontractors to help ensure projects are planned effectively and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain project programmes using planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, MS Project, or similar.
- Prepare baseline programmes, short-term lookahead programmes, and progress updates in line with project requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, site teams, commercial teams, and subcontractors to gather programme information.
- Monitor project progress against planned timelines and highlight any delays, risks, or potential programme impacts.
- Prepare clear progress reports, programme updates, and planning information for internal meetings and client reporting.
- Support the coordination of design, procurement, subcontractor, and construction activities within the overall project programme.
- Assist with resource planning, sequencing, and identifying opportunities to improve project efficiency.
- Maintain accurate planning records, including programme revisions, progress information, and key project milestones.
- Attend planning, progress, and coordination meetings as required.
- Support the continuous improvement of planning processes, reporting templates, and project controls systems.
About You
- A qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline is desirable.
- Previous experience in project planning, construction programming, site engineering, project coordination, or a similar role is essential.
- Experience with planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, MS Project, or similar is essential.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, project timelines, and site operations.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with site teams, project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Confident Microsoft Office user, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Proactive, analytical, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Living within driving distance of the Limerick office is essential.
- A full, clean Irish driving licence is essential.
