Wibu-Systems USA is looking for a Director of Marketing for our expanding North American sales subsidiary of Wibu-Systems AG, a privately held software licensing and security company based in Germany. The candidate can work from home, in our office in Edmonds, WA, or in a hybrid role. This is a senior level opportunity in a cutting-edge industry! Wibu-Systems USA sells and supports the CodeMeter License Platform which enables software developers to protect, license, and manage the software monetization process for their high value software.
The Director of Marketing plans, creates, delivers, and manages all digital marketing and communications programs. Reporting to the co-founder and U.S. President/CEO, the Director of Marketing is responsible for all aspects of marketing and communications, including corporate branding, lead generation, and public relations using the latest digital marketing techniques, including video, google ads, website management, email marketing, social media, content development and editing, graphics support, and events. The hands-on manager coordinates and maintains marketing programs independently and with external contributors or agencies, while communicating with the global director of marketing based in Germany.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning
· Work closely with CEO and North American sales team to create marketing objectives, strategies, and tactics to achieve sales goals
· Working closely with Wibu-Systems AG’s global marketing team to coordinate the global marketing strategy
· Develop, maintain, and monitor North American marketing plan
· Communicate with global marketing director to support HQ-based programs e.g. PR, Webinars, events, newsletters, customer communications
Content Creation
· Develop fresh content and repurpose for collateral, email campaigns, newsletters, blog posts, social media, Web, advertising, etc.
· Monitor market trends and create thought leadership blog posts for corporate Web site
Lead Generation
· Create and implement digital lead generation and nurturing email campaigns using the Pardot (Marketing Cloud Account Engagement) marketing automation tool
· Create vertical application email campaigns and create vertical contact lists in Pardot
· Manage Google ad campaigns, including creative, keyword management, landing pages with calls-to-actions, and response form management
· Create content, monitor SEO strategy, and develop marketing campaigns to generate leads for software-licensing.com
· Create and employ podcasts, videos, animations for lead generation tactics
· Seek external lead generation activities with appropriate media sources
Public Relations
· Maintain North American media list – publishers, podcasters, bloggers, etc.
· Support global PR activities with NA distribution of press releases
· Montor editorial schedules and contribute content, guest blogs, and articles in target publications
Events
· Maintain North American trade show schedule
· Identify appropriate exhibition opportunities
· Identify speaking opportunities at industry events and podcasts and submit speaking abstracts
· Create graphics, manage booth logistics, and follow up
· Support Global Webinar program with invitations to contacts
Social Media
· Manage U.S. presence on LinkedIn, X, and Blue Sky
· Create and publish ongoing posts/create events to support Wibu-Systems’ activities
· Monitor appropriate groups and contribute when possible
· Identify lead opportunities via personal contacts
Global Marketing Support
· Support global marketing activities as appropriate
· Follow corporate style guide
· Provide English editing support for translated local language content
· Create content for newsletters, white paper summaries, and other vehicles as requested
Skills Requirements
· Expert with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
· Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Acrobat
· Hands-on CRM experience with Salesforce/Pardot (Marketing Cloud Account Engagement)
· Experience with Web management using WordPress and other backend Web management tools like Typo3
· Familiarity with SEO techniques, Google Ads, and Google Analytics
· Familiarity with digital tools for creating podcasts, video, and animations
· Familiarity and knowledge of basic HTML commands
Additional Desirable Skills
· Digital marketing experience with software vendor, IT services company, or cybersecurity company with knowledge of software licensing preferred but not required.
· Subject matter expert – hands on experience with software licensing or cybersecurity company
