Senior Software Engineer (Backend)

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with product managers, designers, and data scientists to develop scalable, user-focused features.
• Own and maintain key backend components with an emphasis on security, performance, and clean architecture.
• Design integrations that align with and enhance user workflows.
• Build and maintain both internal and external admin tools, including systems for authentication, permissioning, and reporting.
• Solve complex backend challenges to drive innovation in the core product suite.
• Collaborate within a cross-functional, high-impact team that prioritizes speed, product quality, and excellent user experiences.

Job Requirements:

• 7+ years of full-stack development experience, with a strong focus on the backend (approx. 70% backend, 30% frontend)
• Advanced expertise in Node.js (required)
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, ExpressJS, and modern frontend frameworks such as ReactJS or Angular
• Experience with AWS and NoSQL databases like MongoDB
• Proven ability to build and scale complex SaaS applications
• Strong communication skills and a track record of mentoring or leading others
• A user-centric mindset with the ability to deliver functional, real-world software solutions
• A builder’s mentality—keen on prototyping and iterating quickly
• Experience working in startups or fast-paced, small teams preferred
• Bonus points for experience with design or collaboration tools, background in life sciences, open-source contributions, or technical writing/documentation

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $170,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
