As we scale, we’re undertaking a major infrastructure re-design to support robustness, scalability, and innovation.

We’re seeking an Infrastructure & Distributed Systems Software Engineer to lead and guide our team through this critical evolution. You’ll architect, design, and implement a resilient backend ecosystem leveraging microservices, gateway design patterns, and teleport infrastructure—paving the way for Wellnite’s next generation of healthcare technology.

🌟 Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and re-design of Wellnite’s backend infrastructure to support scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Design and implement robust gateway microservices and teleport infrastructure for secure, high-throughput communication across systems.
• Drive migration of backend services to TypeScript, Go (Golang), Java, or Python—selecting the best framework for each task.
• Establish and enforce best practices for distributed systems design, fault tolerance, and observability.
• Collaborate with DevOps, product engineers, and data teams to ensure seamless infrastructure integration.
• Mentor and guide engineers on infrastructure patterns, distributed systems, and microservice orchestration.
• Drive automation and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and management.
• Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC2, etc.) across infrastructure.
• Proactively optimize costs, latency, and resource utilization across environments.

✅ Requirements

• 7+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 3+ years leading infrastructure or distributed systems projects.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and system architecture.
• Hands-on experience with TypeScript, Go (Golang), Java, and Python—using the right tool for the right job.
• Strong understanding of gateway design patterns, service mesh, and teleport infrastructure.
• Proficiency with container orchestration (Kubernetes, GKE, or equivalent).
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, Helm).
• Strong knowledge of networking, security, and cloud infrastructure (GCP preferred).
• Experience building scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-throughput systems.
• Proven leadership skills: mentoring engineers, driving architectural decisions, and influencing technical strategy.

• Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar).
• Background in healthcare systems, FHIR/HL7 standards, or HIPAA-compliant infrastructure.
• Knowledge of GraphRAG, advanced caching strategies, or distributed consensus systems.
• Experience with Vertex AI or AI-driven infrastructure.
