WebCreek is looking for a Senior Video Systems & AI Developer to drive the development of a mission-critical video management and AI-powered video analytics platform.
The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with video management systems (VMS), real-time video processing, computer vision, and vision-language models (VLMs). This role involves developing scalable solutions for camera integration, video recording, storage, playback, and intelligent video analytics, while providing technical guidance to an in-house developer.
This position is well suited for a senior developer who combines strong software development expertise with technical leadership, enjoys solving complex video processing challenges, and can take ownership of architectural decisions and production-ready solutions.
What You'll Do:
Lead the technical development of video management and AI-powered analytics capabilities, providing architectural guidance and mentoring an in-house engineer.
Design, develop, and maintain video management services supporting camera ingestion, recording, storage, playback, and live streaming.
Build and optimize video processing pipelines using GStreamer, FFmpeg, and protocols such as RTSP/RTP and ONVIF.
Develop solutions supporting H.264/H.265 and MJPEG video formats across multiple camera types and integrations.
Design scalable video storage architectures, including continuous and event-based recording, retention policies, and object storage using Azure Blob Storage or Amazon S3.
Implement browser-based video delivery supporting multiple concurrent camera feeds using technologies such as WebCodecs, Media Source Extensions (MSE), and WebRTC.
Develop and integrate computer vision capabilities, including object detection, tracking, and GPU-accelerated inference.
Integrate vision-language models (VLMs) and large language models (LLMs) into video analytics workflows, including tool calling, structured outputs, and model evaluation.
Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, GraphQL, MySQL, Redis, and message-driven technologies such as MQTT.
Contribute to frontend development using Vue 3 or React to support video management and operator-facing interfaces.
Design and troubleshoot containerized services using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
Write technical design documents, make architectural decisions, review code, and guide engineering implementation.
Develop automated unit and end-to-end tests, maintain CI workflows using GitHub Actions, and follow disciplined Git and pull-request practices.
Use AI coding agents to support development efficiency while carefully reviewing and validating generated code.
Collaborate with Engineering and product stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable video solutions.
