Our friends at Thunderful are looking for a skilled Social Media Manager to join their marketing team on a 9 months assignment. You’ll be the voice behind some of this year’s most exciting game launches, telling great stories, building hype, and engaging communities across multiple channels. Working closely with a tight knit crew of marketers and creatives, this role is perfect for someone who understands the rhythm of the games industry (especially the indie scene) and knows how to connect with both players and more corporate audiences.

You’ll take the lead on social media for two upcoming launches, backed by Thunderful’s internal team. This role calls for creativity, solid organisation, and a friendly, authentic tone. Someone who’s happy being both the voice and the face of a game.

What you’ll be doing

• Taking ownership of social media content (community and corporate comms)
• Building buzz and engaging communities across Discord, LinkedIn, and beyond
• Creating content (roughly 20 to 30% original, no need to be a Photoshop wizard)
• Working with internal teams for assets, planning, and campaign support
• Writing engaging, on brand copy that fans connect with
• Making day to day decisions that balance community needs with dev and publisher goals
• Representing the game online with authenticity and good energy

What Thunderful’s looking for

• Min 5+ years experience in the games industry (indie experience is a big plus)
• Self leadership, confident working independently and able to assess current needs
• Someone who's proactive, positive and solution oriented
• Excellent English copywriting skills and a flair for storytelling
• A community first mindset. Relatable, friendly, and approachable
• Well organized with a keen eye for managing content calendars
• A collaborative spirit who enjoys working across different disciplines

The fine print:

This is a contract role via ALLY – full-time, hybrid/remote (Should be able to come into the Gothenburg and/or London office on occasion), starting ASAP. Duration: 9 months.
