Who You Are

We’re looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer who demonstrates strong leadership skills and deep technical expertise while navigating and resolving complex problems. You’ll be leading a team of engineers working on the design and implementation of highly complex and scalable software solutions, including AI-driven systems. Moreover, you’ll be driving the technical vision, architecture, and execution of major projects, ensuring reliable, efficient, and maintainable systems.

Ideally, you have:

• At least 8 years of experience in engineering roles, including leadership positions.
• A university degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A deep understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and technical architecture.
• Mastery of at least one major programming language (e.g., Python, C++, Go) and strong multi-language proficiency.
• Proven experience in architecting and developing distributed, high-availability, and fault-tolerant systems.
• A deep understanding of system design principles, scalability challenges, and trade-offs in high-performance computing.
• Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with communication protocols for real-time data exchange and collaboration (e.g., systems enabling low-latency communication).
• A strong grasp of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure.
• Expertise in database systems, including advanced indexing, replication, and query optimization.
• Knowledge of security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and encryption techniques, and understanding regulatory standards such as HIPAA or GDPR.
• Familiarity with medical device standards and requirements, such as ISO 13485 and IEC 62304.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams through technical challenges and deliver high-quality results.
• Experience in defining technical roadmaps and aligning them with business goals.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas to diverse audiences.
• A passion for mentoring engineers and helping them grow within the organization.

Your day will include tasks like:

• Project Management: Planning, prioritizing, and overseeing engineering projects to ensure timely delivery of milestones. Monitoring progress, resolving technical challenges, and ensuring project alignment with business requirements.
• Design & Architecture: Architecting and developing scalable software solutions, with a focus on AI-driven technologies, while ensuring high coding and architectural standards.
• Innovation & Strategy: Driving the adoption of emerging technologies to improve system performance and reliability. Defining technical strategy in line with business goals. Fostering a culture of innovation through the adoption of new tools and methodologies.
• Collaboration & Communication: Collaborating across teams, translating complex technical ideas, prioritizing topics, and communicating progress to both technical and non-technical audiences. Building strong relationships within teams and with stakeholders.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Mentoring engineers, fostering a culture of learning, and leading technical initiatives. Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback to team members.
• Talent Growth & Thought Leadership: Identifying training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and professional growth. Supporting recruitment efforts, representing the company at industry events, and helping onboard new team members.
