Senior Frontend Marketing Developer - Shopify Plus Expert

Role Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Front-End Developer with deep Shopify Plus expertise to join our fast-growing eCommerce team. In this role, you’ll own the user experience across our storefront—developing high-performance, conversion-driven, and responsive interfaces. Working at the intersection of design, engineering, and growth, you’ll bring pixel-perfect execution to life while helping scale a high-traffic DTC brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead front-end development and theme customization on Shopify Plus using Liquid, HTML5, SCSS/CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).

• Build reusable, scalable UI components and layouts that empower rapid marketing and merchandising execution.

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and marketers to translate complex flows into responsive, mobile-first interfaces.

• Continuously improve Core Web Vitals and site performance through best practices like lazy loading, code splitting, and asset optimization.

• Manage code deployment from Git workflows to staging and production via Shopify CLI and ThemeKit.

• Customize and integrate Shopify apps, APIs, and custom-built applications as needed.

• Ensure high standards in code quality, browser/device compatibility, documentation, and accessibility (WCAG).

• Partner with back-end developers for clean data integration across features like bundles, metafields, and dynamic pricing.

• Contribute to A/B testing, and own iterative UX improvements aimed at increasing CVR, AOV, and customer retention.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of front-end development experience, primarily in eCommerce.

• 3+ years of hands-on Shopify Plus theme development.

• Mastery of Liquid, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3/SASS, and responsive design frameworks like TailwindCSS or Bootstrap.

• Deep knowledge of Shopify theme architecture, Sections Everywhere, and Online Store 2.0.

• Proven success in optimizing site performance at scale and lifting conversion metrics.

• Proficient in Git, Shopify CLI, ThemeKit, and modern development pipelines.

• Experienced with Shopify Metafields, Shopify Scripts, and storefront logic.

• Strong ability to translate designs from Figma/XD into modular Shopify code.

• Solid grasp of UX/UI principles, accessibility standards, and SEO-friendly markup.

Preferred Extras

• Experience with high-growth DTC brands in fashion, lifestyle, or accessories.
• Background in conversion rate optimization (CRO) and data-driven iteration.
• Familiarity with headless commerce, Hydrogen, or JAMstack frameworks.
• Understanding of 3PL logistics integrations, Klaviyo flows, and analytics tools like GA4/GTM.
