Your Role

The role will work closely with a major music publishing division within Warner Music Group. This publishing division represents one of the highest growing segments at WMG, consistently growing double digits and now representing 20% of WMG’s entire revenue.

We need a strong leader to be the Senior Software Engineer - Technical Lead for our royalty processing system. This entity processes over $1B in royalties every year, ensuring that every rights owner on a composition is paid exactly their share in a timely fashion. If you love music, data, and building world-class systems that scale, this role might be right for you.

Responsibilities

Implement maintainable solutions with high quality and reliability that can scale as our business continues to grow and expand.
Work with the team and leaders to identify new opportunities to improve the quality, scale, and efficiency of our systems.
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and other eng teams, clarifying technical requirements and providing support for system integrations and data engineering.
Have end-to-end ownership of team deliverables, processes and execution, ensuring the team reliably delivers on their technical objectives.
Provide mentorship to other engineers, fostering their professional growth and success
Respond to incidents and perform on-call duties with an eye towards root cause fixes and improvements

About You

You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field
You are hands on leader who writes code, conducts code reviews, and participates in setting engineering best practices
You are an empathetic leader with experience in a technical leadership role, leading engineers through complex projects.
You are an effective communicator who collaborates well cross-functionally
You have at least 6 years of Java backend software development experience
You have strong experience with relational databases and data model design
You have experience in building projects with good abstractions and clean architecture
You have strong debugging skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues
You have a drive to grow, learn, and master the craft of software development
Our tech stack is built on top of AWS. Experience in this tech stack is a plus although not mandatory
Bonus points for experience with design, develop, and maintain large-scale data processing systems utilizing tools such as hadoop, apache spark, kafka
You have a high sense of ownership and a drive to deliver impact in a fast-paced, evolving, ambiguous environment
