About the Role
As a Telecom Design Project Manager, you’ll lead end-to-end fiber optic design projects—ensuring technical excellence, timely delivery, and client satisfaction. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, and external partners while driving design best practices, process efficiencies, and engineering innovations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning, design, and execution of fiber optic network projects and utility forced relocations.
- Coordinate with internal teams, clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Apply technical expertise and project management skills to streamline workflows, resolve challenges, and ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
- Lead projects from initial concept through to completion, maintaining accountability for scope, schedule, and quality.
- Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented team environment and promote continuous improvement across all project phases.
Qualifications
- Strong background in telecommunications infrastructure, with proven experience in fiber optic network design, permitting, utility coordination, right-of-way requirements, and construction.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design tools.
- Knowledge of OSP fiber design standards (aerial and underground), QA/QC principles, and constructability best practices.
- Solid understanding of project planning, scheduling, cost control, and contract management (including SOWs and change orders).
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to motivate cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical problem-solving ability with sharp attention to detail.
- Proven track record managing telecom OSP design and forced relocation projects.
- Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and consultants across multiple concurrent projects.
- Ability to produce and review detailed OSP design deliverables and documentation.
