Description
BRD a VMC Group company is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our innovative team dedicated to designing and delivering engineered noise and vibration control solutions. This position blends the technical expertise of a design/drafting engineer with the leadership and organizational strengths of a project manager.
You will take ownership of projects from concept through installation, ensuring on-time delivery, while collaborating across engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams. If you enjoy transforming customer challenges into smart, effective, and engineered solutions this role is for you.
Responsibilities Not Limited To
Engineering & Design
- Develop pre- and post-sale drawings for internal and external customers.
- Conduct on-site measurements and assessments to define site and equipment requirements.
- Prepare technical drawings and documentation for customer coordination, approval, and installation.
- Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure designs meet project goals.
- Perform acoustic modeling, specification development, and structural support analysis.
Project Management & Strategy
- Plan, schedule, and allocate resources to ensure project success within defined scope, schedule, and budget.
- Manage select projects, including installation oversight and direct technical communication with customers.
- Serve as a customer-facing technical leader throughout the project lifecycle.
Industry & Company Leadership
- Represent BRD in professional organizations such as ASHRAE and INCE.
- Stay current on market and industry trends to enhance solutions and customer experience.
- Act as a positive role model, embodying BRD’s culture, values, and standards of excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). Structural knowledge a plus.
- 3–5+ years in engineering design/drafting and project management, ideally within HVAC, construction, or related technical industries.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (or similar 3D modeling software).
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to visualize and design products related to mechanical systems.
