Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented and versatile Graphic Designer with strong HTML, CSS, WordPress, PHP, and JavaScript expertise to join our dynamic team. This role will be pivotal in creating visually appealing and user-friendly digital experiences across our web platforms and marketing materials, with a strong focus on our WordPress-based websites. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for design, a solid understanding of web development principles, and the ability to translate design concepts into functional and responsive WordPress themes and plugins. You will be responsible for both the visual design and the front-end (and some back-end) implementation of various digital projects.

Job Responsibilities:

(i) Graphic Design:

• Develop visually engaging and on-brand graphics for websites, landing pages, social media, email marketing campaigns, presentations, and other digital assets.
• Create and maintain brand guidelines, ensuring consistent visual identity across all digital touchpoints.
• Conceptualize and design user interfaces (UI) and user experiences (UX) that are intuitive, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing, specifically within the WordPress environment.
• Collaborate with marketing, development, and other teams to understand project requirements and deliver effective visual solutions.
• Manage and organize digital assets effectively, particularly within WordPress media libraries.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies, including those relevant to WordPress.

(ii) HTML, CSS & WordPress Expertise:

• Translate design mockups (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) into clean, semantic, and well-structured HTML and CSS, optimized for WordPress themes.
• Develop and customize WordPress themes and templates to match design specifications.
• Ensure the responsiveness and mobile-friendliness of WordPress sites across various devices and screen sizes.
• Implement basic PHP for WordPress theme customization and functionality.
• Utilize JavaScript for front-end interactions, animations, and enhancing user experience within WordPress.
• Develop and integrate custom WordPress plugins for specific functionalities.
• Collaborate with back-end developers on more complex WordPress integrations.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and adherence to web accessibility standards (WCAG) within the WordPress context.
• Maintain and update existing HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript codebases within WordPress.
• Optimize website performance through efficient front-end and WordPress development practices.

Job Qualification & Skills:

• Proven experience (typically 2-5 years) as a Graphic Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing digital design work and WordPress implementations.
• Solid understanding of design principles (typography, color theory, layout, visual hierarchy).
• Proficiency in industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
• Strong proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3, with a focus on semantic markup and responsive design for WordPress.
• Demonstrable experience developing and customizing WordPress themes and plugins.
• Solid understanding of PHP fundamentals and its application within WordPress.
• Proficiency in JavaScript for front-end interactions and enhancements within WordPress.
• Familiarity with web development workflows and collaboration tools (e.g., Git, Jira, Slack).
• Knowledge of web accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and their implementation in WordPress.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, often within the WordPress ecosystem.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality, particularly in WordPress development.
