About You

We’re looking for a strategic, creative, and detail-driven Director of Copy and Marketing Content to lead content development for our healthcare clients. You'll guide a team of writers in crafting accurate, engaging, and insight-driven work across marketing and sales channels, partnering closely with creative, strategy, and client teams.

What You’ll Do

• Lead creation of brand-aligned sales and marketing content for HCPs, patients, and consumers
• Translate complex scientific data into simple, accurate, and convincing stories
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of VIVO’s clients and competitive landscape
• Present work to clients and guide content through medical/legal review
• Manage freelancers and vendors as needed
• Own editorial excellence, ensuring clarity, compliance, and creativity
• Hire, develop, and manage VIVO’s copy team and their work across all clients
• Maintain administrative processes such as managing team’s utilization, billable hours vs budgets, and resourcing
• Grow existing brands and participate in pitch work to generate new business

What You Bring

• 7+ years of experience in healthcare/pharma marketing
• Portfolio demonstrating extensive background in copywriting, journalism, or scientific writing
• Healthcare agency experience in medical devices, pharma, or similar sectors preferred
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
• Expert writing and editing skills
• Experience creating scopes, proposals and budgeting
• Superior presentation skills to senior clients and MLR resources
• Familiarity with editorial quality management systems (eg - Veeva)
• Competence in agency software including G Suite, Slack, Mavenlink, Zoom, etc.

Candidates without agency experience and an accessible portfolio of work will not be considered for this role. Travel to clients and internal agency functions will be required from time to time.
