The Product Designer is responsible for driving the user experience and visual design of all Vitalchat products, ensuring that every interaction is intuitive, engaging, and impactful. In this role, this position will be responsible for shaping the design vision and leading major design initiatives. Working closely with product managers, program managers, engineers, and stakeholders, you will play a critical role in crafting exceptional user experiences that align with business objectives and customer needs.
This is a remote exempt position reporting to the Vice President of Product Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Leadership & Vision:
- Define the product design vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Lead end-to-end design processes, from research and ideation to prototyping and final implementation.
- Advocate for UX best practices and customer-first design principles.
- Develop and maintain a scalable design system for consistency across products.
- Lead user research, persona development, journey mapping, and usability testing to inform product decisions.
User Experience & Product Innovation:
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design improvements.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs for web and mobile applications.
- Work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure seamless implementation of designs, balancing technical feasibility and design intent.
- Partner with Product Development to create intuitive, engaging, and scalable SaaS experiences.
- Optimize the SaaS product's usability, feature adoption, onboarding, and conversion funnels to drive engagement and retention.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the VP of Product Management and executive leadership to drive product strategy from a UX perspective
- Partner with product managers to define and prioritize features that enhance user experience.
- Collaborate with marketing and customer success teams to ensure a unified brand experience.
- Present design strategies and insights to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Stay ahead of SaaS UI/UX trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.
- Introduce and implement A/B testing, analytics-driven UX improvements, and data-informed decision-making.
- Drive continuous iteration and experimentation to improve product usability and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, Fine Arts, or a related field (perferred, but not required).
- 5-7 years of experience in UI/UX or product design
- Experience in the healthcare or life sciences industry is preferred but not required
Technical & Design Skills:
- Expertise in Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and other modern design tools.
- Strong portfolio showcasing user-centered designs and impactful product experiences.
- Experience with design systems, responsive design, and accessibility and global product best practices.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and front-end development principles (preferred but not required).
Soft Skills:
- Experience working in SaaS, enterprise software, or technology-driven companies.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with experience presenting to leadership.
- Ability to balance business goals, user needs, and technical constraints.
- Passion for continuous learning, innovation, and improving the user experience.
Base salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
