Job Description
At Vitalant, your work has purpose. Every email you create can inspire blood donors to take action, strengthen communities, and help ensure patients receive the lifesaving blood products they depend on. We’re seeking a strategic, creative, and data-driven Email Marketing Program Director to lead and elevate our national donor communications and engagement strategy.
In this highly visible leadership role, you’ll develop donor recruitment and retention campaigns that connect with hundreds of thousands of blood donors and donor prospects each week. By blending compelling storytelling, innovative marketing strategies, and audience insights, you’ll help drive donor engagement, inspire repeat donation behavior, and strengthen long-term donor relationships. You’ll also play a key role in shaping the future of Vitalant’s donor experience through personalization, experimentation, and impactful creative execution.

Compensation: $108,000 - $118,000 annually
This is a remote, work-from-home position. Please note: Vitalant does not currently hire individuals who reside in the following states — Alabama, Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Utah, and Vermont.
As An Email Marketing Program Director, You'll Get To
This role plays a critical part in strengthening donor engagement and ensuring Vitalant can effectively connect with communities to support its life-saving mission.
Requirements
Knowledge/Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field, preferred.
Experience
5+ years of experience managing email marketing campaigns, with a proven track record of increasing engagement and improving results through creative approaches, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
Skills/Abilities
Additional Requirement
Portfolio required demonstrating past email campaigns, including at least three examples with objectives and results.
