An industry-leader is seeking a Sr. Data Scientist with a strong background in Mathematical Optimization Modeling, Network Optimization (Retail or Supply Chain), & Operations Research.

As part of an Assortment & Space Planning team, you will be responsible for optimizing & deploying models as well as developing forecasting & predictive models. Your focus will be on creating tools to assist merchants in making data-driven decisions related to optimizing in-store assortments.

This is an 11-month contract (potential to extend or convert).

You can work 100% remotely, but you must be based in the U.S. & work EST hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)
Generate ideas & develop solutions
Develop models (testing and training)
Create prototypes & PoCs for rapid validation & feasibility assessment
Conduct experiments & measure impact
Deploy models into cloud-based production environments
Monitor model performance

REQUIRED SKILLS:

PhD in a Quantitative field
Master's Degree (Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics)
3 to 7 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist
Expertise in Operations Research & Mathematical Optimization Modeling
Strong Linear Programming (LP), Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP), & Network Optimization
Expertise in optimization libraries & solvers such as CPLEX, Gurobi, OR-Tools, etc.
Advanced understanding of Neural Networks (DNN, RNN, LSTM) for predictive analytics
Experience with Tree-based (XGBoost, Random Forest, etc.) & other statistical models
Experience in deploying models & data pipelines in cloud environments
