About the Role

Visibility Labs is an AI SEO company that helps brands get recommended more often in ChatGPT and other AI assistants. When AI assistants suggest a brand, they're pulling from a handful of trusted articles and listicles. Getting mentioned in one of the cited sources can help brands get recommended more often in AI search.

In the Affiliate Marketing Manager role, you'll own the pitching and relationship side of getting our clients featured in the specific articles AI assistants cite when recommending products. The way in is editorial. You'll win over the writers and editors behind those publications with sharp, tailored pitches and genuinely strong products. You’ll take a targeted approach rather than bulk outreach or paying a publication's commerce team for placement.

We already have systems in place that will provide the exact target articles AI assistants are citing. Your job is to turn those targets into real conversations, real placements, and partnerships that last.

Why This Role Is Different

• It's precision, not volume. This isn't sending hundreds of cold emails and hoping something sticks. You'll study a publication, find the right writer or editor, and build a pitch for that one person. A few smart, well-researched pitches beat a thousand templated ones.
• It's PR. You're selling editors and writers on why a client's product belongs in their article, and making it easy for them to say yes.
• We win on merit, through editorial. Most publications have an affiliate or commerce team that charges steep fees for placement. We'd rather earn the mention than pay for it. You'll build relationships with the editorial side: the people who actually write and decide.
• Success is defined differently. Clicks, conversions, even affiliate revenue aren't the goal. A placement that gets a client cited by ChatGPT and other AI assistants is what counts the most.
• You'll work across a portfolio of clients. Different products, different programs, different maturity levels (some with established affiliate networks, some with no affiliate program in place).

What You'll Do

Affiliate & publisher outreach

Take the listicles and other sources, and turn them into real conversations and placements. Contact potential affiliates directly through email, and affiliate platforms themselves (e.g., Impact, CJ Affiliate, ShareASale, Rakuten, Awin, PartnerStack).

Negotiation & deal-making:

Negotiate commission rates, flat placement fees, hybrid deals, and placement terms. Structure deals that work for both the client and the publisher, and know when to walk away.

Onboarding & program management

Onboard new affiliates and partners into our clients' affiliate program. Manage ongoing affiliate relationships and keep partners active and engaged.

Client coordination

Coordinate product-sample fulfillment between clients and affiliates/reviewers so partners can actually test and write about the product. Serve as the liaison between client and publication throughout the placement.

Setting up affiliate programs from scratch

For clients without an affiliate network in place, help them build one: recommend a platform, set up tracking, define a commission structure, and draft program terms.

What You Bring

Required

• 3+ years in affiliate, partnership, or influencer marketing, ideally managing programs, not just executing on them.
• Hands-on experience with the major affiliate networks and platforms (Impact, CJ, ShareASale, Rakuten, Awin, etc.).
• A proven track record negotiating commission rates and placement terms. You're comfortable making the ask and closing the deal.
• Experience setting up an affiliate program from scratch (or strong confidence you could).
• Excellent written and verbal communication (most of this job is persuasive, relationship-driven outreach)
• Strong organization and the discipline to manage many partners and clients in parallel.
• Comfort working alongside an automated system and trusting (and refining) the targets it surfaces.

Preferred

• Agency experience juggling multiple clients at once.
• Existing relationships with publishers, editors, or affiliate managers.
