Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-Level Java Developer with a strong background in the retail industry to join our dynamic technology team. In this role, you will contribute significantly to the design, development, and maintenance of our core retail applications. The ideal candidate is a self-starter capable of taking ownership of tasks and driving them to completion independently, while also being an effective communicator and collaborator within a team setting. What You'll Do:

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality, scalable Java-based applications and services supporting various retail functions (e.g., eCommerce, Point-of-Sale (POS), inventory management, order processing, merchandising, customer loyalty).
Translate complex retail business requirements into well-designed, efficient, and maintainable technical solutions.
Work independently on assigned features and bug fixes, managing your time effectively to meet deadlines.
Collaborate closely with product managers, business analysts, QA engineers, and other developers in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Participate actively in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues effectively.
Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
Stay current with Java best practices, emerging technologies, and relevant retail industry trends.

What You Bring (Required Qualifications):

Experience: 3-5+ years of professional software development experience using Java.
Core Java: Strong proficiency in core Java (Java 8 or higher) and object-oriented programming principles.
Frameworks: Solid experience with the Spring Framework, particularly Spring Boot, and ORM frameworks like Hibernate/JPA.
Web Services: Proven experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
Retail Domain Knowledge: Demonstrable experience working on software solutions specifically for the retail industry. Understanding of common retail processes and systems is essential.
Databases: Experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) including writing SQL queries.
Independence & Teamwork: Proven ability to work autonomously, manage tasks effectively, and solve problems independently, coupled with excellent collaboration and communication skills to thrive in a team environment.
Tools: Familiarity with build tools (Maven or Gradle) and version control systems (Git).
Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, OR equivalent practical experience.

Nice-to-Haves (Preferred Qualifications):

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Familiarity with microservices architecture.
Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of messaging queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
Basic understanding of front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
Experience with NoSQL databases.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies.
