Design Project Manager - Remote (U.S.)
A fast-growing U.S. Engineering Consultancy are on the lookout for a Design Project Manager to join their team to assist on Mission-Critical projects
The Role
- Oversee all phases of design and construction, including resource planning, project coordination, QA/QC, subconsultant management, and site visits—particularly in mission-critical sectors like data centers, healthcare, and energy infrastructure.
- Manage budgets, monitor margins, process change orders, and handle progress billing. Identify risks early and implement corrective actions to stay on track.
- Act as the main point of contact for all project stakeholders. Foster long-term client relationships and identify opportunities for future engagement.
- Provide leadership, delegate tasks effectively, and mentor team members. Ensure seamless collaboration across disciplines.
- Lead final testing, commissioning, and project closeout with accuracy and attention to detail—ensuring all deliverables are complete and nothing is overlooked.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field
- 8+ years of industry experience, including a minimum of 4 years in a project management role
- Proven track record in managing design and construction phases of mission-critical projects, such as data centers, healthcare facilities, or energy infrastructure
- Strong technical expertise in MEP, fire protection, and fire alarm systems, along with deep knowledge of modern construction practices
- Experienced in leading multidisciplinary teams, managing project budgets and schedules, and aligning with client expectations
- Proficient in tools such as Procore, Revit/AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective communicator, capable of leading meetings, preparing reports, and coordinating across various teams and disciplines
- Well-versed in safety standards, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement
- Tech-savvy and future-focused, with a willingness to adopt AI and emerging technologies that drive better project outcomes
- Authorized to work in the U.S., with flexibility to travel up to 15% as needed
