The Role
Verity is looking for a dynamic full stack front end engineer. The developer must be passionate about working in the healthcare space for a startup and exhibit the following qualities.

The primary responsibilities of the lead software engineer include but are not limited to the following:
Contribute to Software Development Efforts: Collaborate with team members to build and maintain high-quality software components. Participate actively in discussions, share ideas, and contribute to a positive, team-oriented development environment.
Implement Technical Designs and Architecture: Translate system designs and technical specifications into scalable, functional code. Support the integration of APIs and backend systems, ensuring software components are reliable, performant, and align with project requirements.
Support Technology Initiatives: Work closely with senior engineers and product teams to implement new features and enhancements. Stay informed about industry trends and tools to suggest improvements to front-end frameworks, development workflows, or user experience.
Contribute Throughout the Software Development Lifecycle: Participate in planning sessions, estimation, and sprint reviews. Help identify and mitigate technical risks, and ensure assigned tasks are delivered on time and meet quality expectations.
Support Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Bring new ideas to the team and contribute to R&D activities by experimenting with new tools, libraries, and front-end frameworks. Help evaluate and adopt technologies that can improve performance, maintainability, or user engagement.
Write and Review Code: Write clean, maintainable code that adheres to industry best practices and internal standards. Participate in peer code reviews and help ensure software quality through debugging, unit testing, and collaboration with QA teams.
Required Competencies and Experience:
1. 3+ years of increasingly complex development experience.
2. Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science or computer engineering.
3. Technical experience with the following technologies:
Web Application Development (Primary)
· Frontend
o JavaScript frameworks: Vue3 (preferred) React, or Angular.
o HTML5, CSS3, SPA, responsive design, RESTful API integration.
· Backend:
o Languages: Application (including SSR) and API development using Node.js, Python (or related languages) using common frameworks/libraries (e.g., FastAPI, Vue, Vite, Tailwind).
o REST, plus GraphQL API development.
o Security best practices (JWT, OAuth2, rate limiting, etc.).
API Design and Integration
· API Design: Experience designing RESTful or GraphQL APIs with versioning, documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI), and error handling.
· API Gateways: Familiar with AWS API management (API Gateway), or related cloud or deployable services (e.g., Azure API Management, Kong, or Apigee).
· Authentication & Authorization: Experience with OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, etc.
· Third-party Integrations: Experience integrating with external APIs (e.g., Stripe, Salesforce, or EHR/EMR systems in healthcare).
4. Database Design and Management
· Relational Databases: Proficient in PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora, or related engines; strong in SQL, schema design, indexing, performance tuning.
· NoSQL Databases/Caches: Familiarity with JSON use in RDMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Redis).
· ORMs and Query Tools: Experience with Python and/or javascript frameworks/libraries (such as SQLAlchemy or Sequelize)
· Data Modeling: Understanding of normalization, denormalization, and best practices for transactional and analytical workloads
Cloud Development & Deployment
· Cloud Platforms: Proficient in AWS cloud architecture and platform services, especially ELB, EC2 and RDS services, and multi-region operations supporting many customer portals and API families.
· CI/CD: Pipeline automation and AWS integration using Github or related services (e.g., GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps)
· Serverless & Microservices: Experience developing or deploying serverless functions (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions), and container-based microservices.
