Lead Software Engineer (Java/React.js)

We are looking for a remote, full-time Lead Engineer with 7+ years of full-stack development experience and a strong background in Java and React.js.

Primary duties include driving technical excellence, architecture, and team leadership across backend, frontend, cloud, and AI-driven initiatives. This role requires hands-on expertise, strong ownership, and the ability to influence teams while aligning engineering execution with business goals.

Our client provides business-automating enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to the oil & gas industry. The client's software and services streamline and automate complex processes, such as revenue distribution, billing, order management, production accounting, accounts payable, contract management, and more, for over 1,700 customers across 9 countries.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the Transportation team and assist team members
• Hands on development using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs
• Build and review frontend solutions using React.js
• Design and manage cloud-native solutions on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS)
• Ensure high code quality through reviews, automation, and CI/CD pipelines

Required Experience:

• Excellent English communication and teamwork skills
• 7+ years of experience in software development
• 2+ years of experience in a Lead role
• 5+ years of experience using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with React.js
• Experience with MySQL (schema design, performance tuning)
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, security, and scalability
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, and DevOps practices
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts, APIs, or AI-enabled systems

Preferred Experience:

• Land/oil and gas industry experience
