About The Role
As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll be a core part of a team of talented data scientists and machine learning engineers to help define, build, and operate sophisticated models to answer hard questions centered around improving our logistics network. You’ll help evolve our Network Orchestration capabilities that determine how millions of packages flow through our network from client injection to last mile delivery, ensuring we meet and exceed client expectations and efficiently use available network capacity. You’ll partner with Product, Operations, and Engineering to develop these models and ensure business impact of its decisions. You will be responsible for operationalizing the models you build in the production systems that drive Veho's growth and efficiency.
What You’ll Do
- Proactively identifying the most impactful opportunities for data science to shape product roadmaps.
- Building reliable, efficient, and scalable models for our AI/ML capabilities.
- Creating robust data pipelines to feed analyses and models.
- Ensuring data quality and data integrity.
- Evaluating the impact and effectiveness of models in production systems
- Owning production machine learning systems end to end.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Research, Data Science or a similar degree, plus at least 4 years of experience, or Master’s Degree of PhD plus 2 years of experience.
- Strong knowledge in operations research concepts such as linear (LP), nonlinear (NLP) and mixed-integer programming (MIP), network optimization, and simulation
- Experience in applying these methods in a supply chain and logistics setting, understanding how to apply network optimizations at scale.
- Strong ability to create solutions that drive impact in a Ground Operations environment.
- Strong Python and SQL skills, to develop production applications
- Experience implementing and tuning mathematical solvers like OR-Tools, Hexaly, CPLEX, Gurobi, Xpress, COIN-OR
- Strong ability to use AI to accelerate model iteration and testing
Compensation: $150,000 - $170,000
