The Vice President, Design Technologies is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Architecture & Engineering Design technology landscape for the company. This executive role leads the strategic vision and implementation of design technologies across a complex architecture and engineering environment. It partners with internal leaders and external tech partners to drive innovation, digital transformation, and cross-functional integration. It is central to shaping the enterprise IT strategy, standardizing delivery practices, and enabling new technology-driven business opportunities.

Vision and Strategy
- Set the vision and develop strategies for digital enablement and innovation.
- Design engineering solutions that align with company goals and create business value.
- Drive corporate digitalization, standardization, and enforcement across multiple business units.
Transformation Solutions
- Utilize generative AI, advanced analytics, and predictive design modeling to enhance project outcomes and drive innovation.
- Help shape and support the company vision through the effective use of design technologies, ensuring alignment with the firm's overall strategy and objectives.
- Establish digital integrated project delivery strategies and roadmaps.
- Develop robust applications teams with expertise in engineering applications (3D/4D/5D BIM, design/build, digital construction, CAD systems) and business technologies.
- Champion innovative digital solutions for diverse client projects.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and workshare through collaboration tools.
- Partner with training teams to develop materials supporting key processes.
- Lead the creation and operations of a digital talent ecosystem.
- Implement and support cybersecurity application and data management controls.
- Identify solution alternatives and enhancements to improve business performance.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and changing requirements.
- Develop a digital investment framework to prioritize and rationalize competing requests.
- Serve as innovation lead on strategic client and project pursuits.
Resource Management
- Lead and motivate a highly functional team-based environment.
- Coach staff in continuous improvement, customer service orientation, and career development.
- Organize a scalable and agile team for efficient task completion.
Solution Delivery Lifecycle Management
- Implement and oversee standard system lifecycle processes for COTs technologies.
- Ensure SDLC compliance and quality at critical project milestones.
- Guide staff to complete projects on time, within budget, and according to customer requirements.
- Report status and issues to project sponsors and executive committees.
Solution Maintenance and Support
- Maintain solution and security configuration information from implementation through retirement.
- Manage solution availability and performance to meet current and future business needs.
- Support implemented solutions from training through end-user support.
- Identify, analyze, track, and resolve problems related to developed solutions.
Operations/Management:
- Managerial: Ability to manage a complex solution delivery environment with diverse service levels, customers, and business processes.
- Financial: Budget and fiscal responsibility for a $10M-$15M capital and expense budget. Ability to analyze and manage the financial impact of business/IT projects.
- Leadership: Translate business, technical, and cultural knowledge into actionable strategies for change. Drive performance through coaching, guidance, and feedback.
- Collaboration: Influence through communication, negotiation, and relationship building.
- Support Role Management: Expertise in managing support roles for internal clients within an AEC firm, emphasizing the development of self-sufficiency among internal clients by providing guidance and training rather than direct task execution.
- Client-Oriented Solutions: Assist in creating new client-oriented products, solutions, and services by leveraging digital technologies to meet client needs and enhance project delivery.
- Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate with strategic partners to enhance digital solutions and services.

Key Requirements and Competencies:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- 15 years of AEC experience, with 5 years management experience.
- AEC Technical: Solid understanding of AEC application solutions and related cloud technologies.
- Geospatial Technology: Proficiency in geospatial technologies such as sUAS, GIS and LiDAR, including Scan to BIM and Scan to Twin processes.
- AI and ML: Solid understanding of how AI and ML technologies can be leveraged to enhance both internal operations and external client solutions within the AEC industry.
- AEC Workflows: Deep understanding of AEC workflows and processes, ensuring seamless integration and efficiency.
- Data Standardization: Importance of data standardization for interoperability, efficient operations, and effective decision-making.
- Technology Integration and Innovation: Drive the integration of various technologies and foster innovation within the firm.
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in an AEC related field, IT or similar. Additional degree or certification applicable to the position, a plus.
- License Registrations: any AEC or IT related, a plus.
$170,000 - $320,000 a year
This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
